David was first licensed in Minnesota as a commercial broker in 1977, while owning multiple commercial investments including a grocery store and gas station all before the age of 30. David and Cathy, now married 30 yrs started out as the original founders of Independent Brokers Realty (IBR) in the Chanhassen-Lake Minnetonka area just West of Minnepolis.  Having raised six children, who all (but one in the Navy) played a special part in the successful growth of the MN company assisting with marketing to managerial duties.  In 1997, they sold IBR with 200+ agents and relocated to beautiful Marco Island, FL to thaw out.
